Located in the RM of Loon Lake No. 561 – Approximately 8 miles east of highway 304 and highway 26 intersection on the north side of highway 304 abutting the Village of Makwa. There is approximately ninety (90) acres of seed able land on the PT. SE 16-58-20-W3.
Tenders shall be submitted in a sealed envelope marked “TENDER FOR LEASE OF FARMLAND RM OF LOON LAKE” and will be received by Laura Fechter at Pinnacle Business Solutions, 719 1st Ave W, Meadow Lake, SK S9X 1Y3 until 3:00p.m. November 10, 2025. Tenders received at the RM of Loon Lake office or Village of Makwa office WILL NOT BE INCLUDED OR ACCEPTED.
Lease of the said land shall be on a cash rent basis only and shall commence on January 1, 2026, and will terminate December 31, 2028 (3-year term). This lease will be solely for the use by the Tenant, not to be assigned or sublet or occupied by anyone other than the Tenant without prior written consent from the RM of Loon Lake and Village of Makwa. The Tenant will be responsible for any costs associated with farming the lands, with the exception of property taxes. The Tenant shall cultivate, seed, control weeds, insects and disease and harvest crops on the land in a sustainable manner. This land is to be leased on an “as is” basis. There are no warranties offered or implied on the condition of the property.
The following conditions need to be noted and the successful tender MUST adhere to the following conditions;
- The Village of Makwa has their septic lagoon on this parcel and employees and or contractors must be allowed access to the lagoon at all times.
- The lagoon is typically drained once a year, in the fall.
- If in an emergency situation the lagoon needs to be drained there will be no compensation of seeded acres lost.
- The RM of Loon Lake has a gravel stockpile on site. (Location is clearly established and has been removed from the total farmable acres)
- Council has the right to reject any and all tenders and the highest tender may not necessarily be accepted.
- In the event of matching high bids, the winner shall be drawn from a hat.
