Terms
If the fire escapes my control, I will call 911 to have Loon Lake Fire Truck dispatched.
I understand costs incurred for fighting fires in the R.M. of Loon Lake No. 561 are 100% the responsibility of the landowner – there is no cap or ceiling on the cost and no portion will be absorbed by the R.M. of Loon Lake No. 561.
I will ensure I have adequate liability and fire insurance coverage. Any unpaid firefighting costs will be added to the tax roll.
I will call P.A. 911 Toll Free at 1-866-404-4911 for Saskatchewan Residents only or I will call P.A. 911 at 1-306-953-4284 for Alberta Residents only prior to starting the fire and again when the fire is out.
I will be responsible for notifying neighbouring landowners of my intention to burn.
If a fire ban is issued all burning permits are immediately cancelled.
The land owner is totally responsible for the fire at all times until it is completely extinguished.
Every person starting a fire in the Rural Municipality of Loon Lake No. 561 has responsibilities under the The Wildfire Act. It is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with this legislation.
Fire permits automatically expire 14 days from the approval of this permit unless cancelled due to fire ban.
If further time is required, you will need to apply for a new permit.
Applicable from April 1 to October 31. All burning permits issued in the 4.5 kilometre (3 mile) area known as the Saskatchewan Environment Burn Notification Zone must include the Saskatchewan Environment Authorization Number. Permit authorization numbers are obtained by calling 306-236-7696 prior to burning.
